The exquisite globe is suspended within the embrace of the dual arm display stand. The handsome display stand complements either modern or traditional décor, and is available in your choice of brown or charcoal finish. Manufactured by Stellanova, the creator of the world’s first magnetic levitating globe, the Antique Ocean Titan is equipped with an intelligent computer control. Utilizing CCL (Computer Controlled Levitation) a magnetic field sensor continuously measures the height at which the globe sphere is suspended. The electronic sensors in the base control an electronic magnet in the upper part of the frame which is used to adjust the distance between the globe sphere and magnetic head. The globe snaps securely to the base when the magnetic field is de-activated. The permanent magnet installed in the south pole of the globe holds the sphere safely on the base whenever the suspension mechanism is switched off. World Class Innovation… how it works… The magnetic head contains an electro magnet and a magnetic field sensor while the frame base accommodates the Micro-processor and the electronic control components. The magnetic field sensor records the magnetic field generated by permanent magnets integrated in the globe sphere, which enable it to transmit to the computer the data that defines the distance from the globe sphere to the magnetic head. The computer evaluates this data and controls the electronic magnets accordingly, accurately moving the globe sphere upwards and downwards. Through approximately 16,000 control process cycles per second, the globe is always kept in the correct position. The computer also records any oscillation movements of the globe sphere and counteracts them to allow the globe to levitate safely and steadily. By analyzing the characteristics of the electro magnet, permanent magnet, weight of the globe sphere etc., the computer calculates the optimal levitation height, making the necessary adaptations should any of these characteristics change over time. You are therefore assured long-term pleasure and operability from this amazing product. The Magnetic Levitating Globe requires 110V/60HZ power for operation.
