Armillary spheres were originally designed to act as a focal point in architecture. They were often positioned in the center of a classical garden or at both sides of imposing marble terraces.
Our large armillary is hand crafted in wrought iron with intricate detail. Conforming to the Ptolemaic concept of the universe, the blue wooden sphere in the center represents the earth. Surrounding the earth, gracefully intertwined iron rings symbolize the position and trajectories of heavenly bodies around the earth.
