Comprehensive Gemstone Guide

The Comprehensive Gemstone Guide is a unique reference tool for Gemstone Globe owners. This guide is designed to assist Gemstone Globe owners in receiving the greatest possible enjoyment from their Gemstone Globe. We believe part of this enjoyment will come from identifying the various semi-precious gemstones that are included in your Gemstone Globe.

The Comprehensive Gemstone Guide is based on the selection of semi-precious stones typically used in the construction of Alexander Kalifano Gemstone Globes. As a result of the specific nature of this guide, the applicability to Gemstone Globes from manufacturers other than Alexander Kalifano may vary.

What gemstones will you encounter? The specific gemstones selected and used in the manufacture of any given Gemstone Globe is subject to significant variation. The type and quantity of gemstones used in creating a Gemstone Globe depends on the availability of the various gemstones, the diameter of the globe, and the skill of the artisan. This variation is one of the elements that makes every Gemstone Globe such a unique artistic creation.

No representation is made that your particular Gemstone Globe will contain the specific semi-precious stones contained in this guide, nor is any representation made that the gemstones that are used will appear as any specific country on your Gemstone Globe.

The Comprehensive Gemstone Guide lists 144 individual semi-precious gemstones, complete with a high quality image of the gemstone and the identity of the country from which the stone is sourced.

How many stones will I find on my globe? As the diameter of a Gemstone Globe increases, so does the number of gemstones that are typically used in its creation. The greater the number of individual gemstones used in the creation of a particular Gemstone Globe, the greater the likelihood it will contain most or even all of the gemstones identified in this guide.

In general terms, the number of gemstones used in creating an Alexander Kalifano Gemstone Globe can be classified by diameter in the following manner.

Gemstone Globe Care Instructions

Proper care of your Gemstone Globe will ensure a lifetime of beauty and undiminished viewing pleasure. Protect the investment in your Gemstone Globe though proper care and it will remain a cherished family heirloom.

These care and maintenance instructions are general in nature and are suitable for use with most, better quality Gemstone Globes.

Caution:

Chemical cleaners, solvents, or polishes, may damage the surface of the Gemstone Globe and/or the plated finish of the Gemstone Globe stand.

Care for the Globe:

Dust the Globe using a soft, camel hair brush, or a feather duster.

Always dust the Globe before cleaning. Use a clean, soft cotton cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol to shine and remove fingerprints from the globe. Do not use abrasive cleaners as they may scratch the finish of the globe.

Care for the Stand:

Dust the stand using a soft, camel hair brush, or a feather duster.

Always dust the stand before cleaning. Use a clean, soft cotton cloth with a very small amount of pH neutral hand lotion to remove fingerprints. With a clean dry soft cotton cloth wipe away the hand lotion and gently buff to desired shine.

Do not use rubbing alcohol on the stand because it is too harsh and may damage the finish of the stand.
